The multi-resolution HMM (MR-HMM) is an “On-the-fly Segmentation"
in which not just one, but all possible segmentation outcomes are
considered. Rather than performing segmentation as a pre-processing
step, segmentation is integrated in to the statistical model itself.
This technique requires a Chapter on its own (Chapter 14).
