We have recently added the option of rectangular-shaped bands.
By using rectangular-shaped bands,
the output features are statistically independent.
Each band output is a chi-squared statistics with
number of degrees of freedom equal to the
sum of the degrees of freedom of the included bins.
This greatly speeds up the J-function calculation
with only a small performance degredation.
This section requires further clarification
and is still under construction.
